About

About Tim.
Spokane's personal mechanic.

One mechanic. Ten-plus years. Built around the idea that getting your car fixed shouldn't mean towing it across town and losing a day at a waiting room.

My story

How I got here.

I'm Tim. I've been turning wrenches professionally for more than a decade, and running my own mobile operation in Spokane for the years since. Before that — same work, just somebody else's shop.

I started Tim's Mobile Mechanic because the standard shop model never made sense to me. Most people don't want to spend half a day in a waiting room with bad coffee. They want their car fixed, and they want to know what it actually costs before anyone touches it. I figured I could do that just as well from a driveway.

Most of my customers find me because they couldn't reach anyone else, or because someone in their family told them to call. I answer the phone. I quote the work. I show up.

Why mobile

Why I work this way.

A driveway is just as good as a shop bay for the vast majority of repairs. The tools are the tools. The parts are the parts. The difference is the overhead — no rent on a building, no service writers, no parts markup to pay for the lobby. That savings goes back into the price.

The other piece is time. You don't have to coordinate a tow, sit in a waiting room, or wait three days for a service slot. I work mornings, evenings, and weekends. If your car broke down in your driveway, that's where I'll fix it.

What I work on

Makes, models, and types of work.

Domestic, import, gas, diesel — Fords, Chevys, Toyotas, Hondas, Subarus, Dodges, Jeeps, BMWs, the occasional Audi or Mercedes. Pickups, SUVs, sedans, hatchbacks. If it has four wheels and an internal combustion engine, I've probably worked on one.

The work I take on covers most of what a regular shop does: brakes, oil and fluids, engine repair and diagnostics, batteries, tune-ups, suspension and lift kits, performance bolt-ons, audio installs, and full diagnostics for stubborn check engine lights. The work I won't take on — major engine internals, transmission rebuilds, body work, alignments — I'll tell you and point you to a shop that can do it right.
